Turkish security forces have killed at least 11 PKK terrorists in southeastern Turkey on Friday, according to official statements issued Saturday, APA reports quoting Anadolu agency.

Six terrorists were killed in an air-supported operation in the southeastern Sirnak province, the statement from the provincial governor’s office said.

In a separate statement issued by the governor's office in Diyarbakir, another air-backed operation killed five terrorists in the southeastern province.

A total of six Kalashnikovs, three rifles, three hand grenades as well as ammunition were seized in the operations.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
