The tenth day of Muharram – Ashura that marks the death of Imam Hussain will be commemorated in Azerbaijan in line with the fatwa issued by the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Mubariz Gurbanli, chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, told APA on Friday.
“The State Committee has departments and representatives in the districts of the country, and we regularly hold and will continue to hold monitoring in mosques. The monitoring aim to verify compliance with the requirements of the law in mosques,” he said.
