Over the past two years, 43 Azerbaijani citizens have gained the right to study in China and 41 Chinese citizens in Azerbaijan through mutual scholarships, Azerbaijani Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov announced Tuesday, APA reported.
Jabbarov said this became possible on the basis of a memorandum signed between the Azerbaijani and Chinese education ministries.
He noted that along with studying, these students will play an important role in learning the history, culture and development path of the countries and strengthening of friendship among peoples.
According to the minister, the content of the subject of computer science is being revised in the education system of Azerbaijan. “In other subjects, special programs aimed at the teaching of Information and Technology, are being applied. In 2017, dozens of schools will be involved in the pilot project on the renewed IT program,” added Jabbarov.
The minister noted that the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) to be held in Azerbaijan in 2019 makes important the necessary work in this area.
