Alexander Lapshin, who was pardoned by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, will most likely be sent to Israel tomorrow, Lapshin’s lawyer Edward Chernin told APA.

“I got information from the Central Clinic Hospital in Baku that everything is normal with Alexander Lapshin’s health,” he said.

The lawyer noted that all documents are ready for Lapshin’s deportation to Israel. “However, there is no precise information about the departure of the plane to Israel. Most likely, Lapshin will be sent to Israel tomorrow,” he added.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Sept. 11 to pardon Alexander Lapshin, who was sentenced to three years behind bars.

According to the order, Israeli citizen Alexander Lapshin, who was sentenced to imprisonment by the Baku Court of Grave Crimes on July 20 2017, shall be released from prison.
