Turkey always supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Georgia, the country’s foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said on Wednesday.

The projects jointly implemented by Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia serve the welfare of not only these countries, but also for the region, Cavusoglu said at a press conference with his Azerbaijani and Georgian counterparts in Baku, APA reported.

Cavusoglu noted that the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) to be launched in 2018 will contribute to Europe’s energy security.

He added that the work within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is nearing completion: "Test trips have already started. One test trip is expected to take place between Kars and Tbilisi. Following these trips, we will together specify the date of the opening of the Baku-Kars-Tbilisi railway line."

The sixth trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia took place in Baku on Wednesday.
