The fire that broke out in the third section of the Khachmaz forestry of Oghuz Forest Protection and Rehabilitation Enterprise was completely extinguished at about 04.00am on Sept. 4 thanks to the efforts of personnel of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

The fire in the forest zone surrounding the villages of Solguja, Abrikh and Dandikh in Gabala was brought under control, efforts are underway to put out the fire, MENR press service told APA.

Active measures are being taken to prevent the spread of fire outside the villages of Abrikh and Solguja.

Nearly 350 personnel from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as forces and equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved in firefighting efforts. The area with a complex terrain makes it difficult to deliver equipment to the scene of fire. Therefore, all means, mainly manual labor are used in putting out the fire. To tackle the fire in hard-to-reach areas, trailer tanks with water are being delivered by caterpillar tractors.
