The growing infertility has caused an increase in the number of patients who opt for artificial insemination in Azerbaijan, Zinyat Muradova, an official of the Scientific-Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology under the Ministry of Health, told APA.
She noted that the causes of infertility are different. “In our country, the cases of infertility are most associated with men. Infections in men and their way of life can be indicated as the causes of infertility,” added Muradova.
According to her, one of the key points of the correct course of pregnancy is the timely identification of risk factors (socio-biological, obstetric-gynecological and extragenital factors).
“Biological factors include the age of mother and father, bad habits, body weight, while gynecological factors include miscarriages, caesarean surgery, infertility and others, and extragenital factors include detection of urine, lung, cardiovascular diseases. If these are not detected in a timely manner, pregnancy may end. If women belonging to certain risk groups are treated on time, such problems can be prevented. All pathologies result in premature birth,” she added.
