At Friday’s meeting in Minsk, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Committee on Political Affairs and Security discussed the draft resolution, titled “Enhancing mutual trust and co-operation for peace and prosperity in the OSCE region.”

The delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan made proposals of making amendments to the draft resolution, APA reported.

Armenian MPs’ proposal of adding to the resolution the principle of people’s right to self-determination was turned down by the Parliamentary Assembly.

Two proposals of OSCE PA Vice-president Azay Guliyev were approved unanimously by the Assembly. In the amendments to the 8th item of the Resolution, the principles of solving the conflicts in the OSCE area have been specified and it is noted that the problem should be solved within the territorial integrity, internationally recognized borders and sovereignty of the countries involved in the conflicts. The amendment made to the Article 14 of the Resolution states that internally displaced persons and refugees need to return to their native lands voluntarily, safely and with no obstacle and expresses concern regarding the humanitarian state of the people deprived of their property rights.
