Russia’s Supreme Court has tightened the prison sentence of Azerbaijani citizen Ramil Mirzamov, who was arrested on charges of recruiting four students to the ranks of international terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria, from eight years to eight years and four months, APA reported citing RIA Novosti.

According to the Russian court, Mirzamov will serve his sentence in a penal colony.

Investigators say that two students from a university in Syktyvkar joined the IS militants in 2014 after Mirzamov persuaded them to do so. Two other students testified against him.
