Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is an essential organization for formation of the Black Sea region as a single economic place, speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov said at the 25th summit of heads of state and government of the BSEC.
According to him, success of the regional cooperation depends on the level of responsibility of member states before the organization.
He noted that supremacy of international law is important for regional economic cooperation which will lead to economic revival in the region.
“Multilateral projects we started played important role to ensure peace, stability, security, dialogue and progress in the region, as well as mutual understanding among the participating countries. We assess our place’s geopolitical competition advantage for cooperation as a chance. We used this advantage to increase transit potential of the country via development of East-West and North-South corridors. In early 1990s, Azerbaijan introduced energy cooperation in the Black Sea region as a process of regional development. All these have started with Azerbaijan’s new energy strategy and new visions to energy cooperation. This vision brought new transformation and progress to the region. Azerbaijan has turned into a significant partner in ensuring of energy security for wider region”.
