Traffic Police name streets to be closed in Baku during 4th Islamic Solidarity Games

The Commission for Road Safety of Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision on restriction of the traffic in some streets of Baku during the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.

From 5 to 23 May, the traffic on the part of the Bibiheybat highway from the Baku Aquatics Centre to the Bibiheybat mosque will be only in one direction. For the return it will be necessary to drive through the 20th residential area and take an alternative route, Kamran Aliyev, spokesman for the Main State Traffic Police Department told reporters on May 8, APA reported.

In addition, from 6 to 23 May, the traffic in Dadashov street, and on the road passing through Suleyman Sani Akhundov and Jafar Handan streets in Binagadi district of Baku will be restricted.

During this period, traffic will be restricted at the intersection of Suleyman Rustam, Khan Shushinsky and Mustafa Topchubashov streets with Khanifa Alasgarov street in Nasimi district. Only Khanifa Aleskerov street will be opened. Alternative routes will be Samed Vurgun street and Azadlig Avenue.

From 6 to 23 May, traffic will also be restricted at the intersection of Jalil Mammadguluzade and Abbas Sehhet streets.
