Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry on Friday held an enlarged board meeting on the results of the large-scale exercises conducted from April 16 to 21 in order to inspect combat readiness of troops.
The ministry leadership, commanders of formations, their deputies, heads of military schools and other officers in charge attended the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said on Friday.
Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov delivered a report on the results of combat activities of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the first quarter of the 2017 winter training period.
Summing up the results of the exercises, the minister emphasized that all the goals and tasks set in the exercises, held in accordance with the plan approved by Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, were successfully fulfilled.
Hasanov hailed the troops’ psychological and combat readiness. He spoke of the importance of holding exercises, informing commanders about the tasks assigned by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Speaking about the situation along frontline, the defense minister assigned concrete tasks to commanders of frontal military units as to readiness for combat, keeping the adversary under pressure and keeping them under control, preventing possible provocations and inflicting a crushing blow on them, etc.
