Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee on family, women and children affairs on Friday considered the proposal of adding a new article to the law on children’s rights.
The proposed article, 11-1 (children’s protection in ads), prescribes a number of bans aimed at protecting children from possible moral and physical harms from ads, APA reported.
The new article bans use of words or phrases offensive to parents, rude to others, provoking hate and aggression, compelling parents to buy items which are falsely introduced as affordable, harmful for life and health, encouraging children to buy alcoholic drinks (also, interruption of children’s programs with alcohol ads), etc.
The article has been submitted to the parliament’s plenary session for further consideration.
