Russia will open an embassy in the self-proclaimed “Republic of Abkhazia”, Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced Monday, APA reported.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a working visit to Abkhazia on April 18-19 to attend the opening ceremony of the embassy there.
Lavrov is scheduled to have meetings with the leader of the self-proclaimed republic, Raul Khajimba, the speaker of the so-called “parliament”, Valery Kvarchia, and the “foreign minister”, Daur Cove.
Moscow announced that the sides will exchange views on the coordination of “Russian-Abkhaz foreign policy interaction”.
