Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has conducted raids on a number of recreational centers in the country in early April, the ministry’s press service told APA

As a result, one brown bear was found at “Yashıl Gol” (Green Lake) recreational center in Aghstafa, two East Caucasian turs at “Chanlibel” in Khachmaz, and two brown bears and three gazelles at “Qarabag” recreational center in Fuzuli. The illegally captured wild animals were being kept in cages.

The owners of the recreational centers were each fined 500 manats in an administrative way.

The animals kept at the “Yashıl Gol” and “Chanlibel” recreational centers were given to the Wildlife Restoration and Rehabilitation Center operating under Altıaghaj National Park.

Efforts are underway to hand over the animals kept at “Qarabag” recreational center to the same Center.
