A truck carrying 20 tons of medications and medical equipment belonging to Azerbaijan’s company Epidbiomed has been hijacked in Ukraine.

The company’s director general, Surkhay Mustafayev, told APA that the truck carrying medications worth €170,000 from Austria to Azerbaijan is lost with its driver.

He said a Ukrainian company was liable for delivery, noting that the truck arrived in Ukraine without a problem and then they lost touch with driver Reva Taras.

“After the truck got lost, Rodnev company broke off contact with us. Later on, we learned that the cargo had been stolen. We have appealed to the relevant authorities of Ukraine, but there is no answer or result,” he noted.

Mustafayev added that Rodnev company is suspected of being involved in the stealing of the cargo.

Over recent months, 18 heavy-tonnage trucks belonging to Azerbaijani companies have disappeared in Ukraine.
