Amount of fines imposed for traffic violations in Azerbaijan increased by AZN 5.5 million

The amount of fines imposed by Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry for traffic violations amounted to 67,987,372 manats in 2014 and 73,452,509 manats in 2015, which in total equals 32,8% of non-budget incomes of budget organizations, said an annual report (2016) of the Chamber of Accounts, APA reported.

According to the report, the amount of fines paid in 2015 increased by 5,465,137 manats or 0.8% compared to 2014. 987,782 manats or 14.5% of the amounts paid in 2014 and 14,301,254 manats or 19.5% of the amounts paid in 2015 were the ones left from previous years.

The amounts of fines paid in 2015 for the decisions made in previous years were 4,423,434 manats or 44% more in comparison with the analogous figures of 2014.

Seventeen car parks with a total area of 52,363 sq.m, including 13 car parks in Baku, 2 in Absheron, and one each in Sumgayit and Ganja have been operated under Main State Traffic Police Department. Receipts from parking made up 67,995 manats in 2014, and 84,229 manats in 2015, up by AZN 16,234 or 23.9%.

Receipts from transport of vehicles by tow trucks made up 47,900 manats in 2014, and 42,080 manats in 2015, down by 5,820 manats or 12.2%.
