Avian influence outbreak reported in Russia

An outbreak of avian influence has been detained at two poultry farms in Russia’s Moscow province.

The virus is believed to have been transmitted by wild ducks and geese and almost all poultry breeds have been infected with this type of influenza, APA reported citing the Russian media.

The news has been confirmed by the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being.

In case the infection undergoes recombination with the human influenza virus, there may be a risk of transmission of infection from person to person.

All necessary preventive and anti-epidemic measures are being carried out in the area. People working in the area are under control.
