Russia hopes that leaders of the Caspian littoral countries reach an agreement on the status of the Caspian Sea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
He made the remarks addressing a press conference following the talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Moscow March 6, APA reported.
Lavrov said he had a detailed discussion with Mammadyarov as to problems with the Caspian Sea.
“We assume that it will be possible at the next meeting of foreign ministers of Caspian littoral countries to complete the work on the convention on the legal status of the Caspian and on a number of other documents for heads of state who are planning on the Caspian summit in Kazakhstan,” he added.
