Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov made the remarks on Febr.25 while commenting on the reports on escalation of the situation on the front line, APA reports.

“I am absolutely confident that the Azerbaijani army, our heroic soldiers, as always, will give an adequate response to the Armenian provocation,” he added. “The Azerbaijani army is strong enough and resolute, its combat capability is at a high level. Our army is ready to suppress not only Armenian provocations, but also large-scale battles, from which will emerge as the winner.”

Heavy fighting erupted between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces as the enemy attempted to occupy favorable positions in Khojavand – Fuzuli directions. Azerbaijani soldiers lying in ambush in these directions bravely prevented the attack of the Armenians and forced them to retreat. Azerbaijani army suffered losses as a result of the battle.
