Armenia’s atrocities against Azerbaijanis, particularly the Khojaly genocide started to be assessed after national leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power, said Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade.

He made the remarks at the event titled “Khojaly Genocide – bloody memory of the Azerbaijani people!!! Justice For Khojaly!” held at the CMO office Feb. 21, APA reported.

Pashazade noted that Armenian extremists resorted to another acts of genocide and terrorism after Heydar Aliyev was dismissed from the Politburo of the Soviet Union.

According to him, Heydar Aliyev was dismissed from the Soviet political power in order to pave the way for the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia.

“Many Azerbaijanis were killed as a result of the acts of genocide committed by Armenians,” said Pashazade, expressing confidence that justice will triumph sooner of later.

“The Khojaly tragedy was planned 200 years ago. Armenian extremists resorted to another acts of genocide and terrorism after Heydar Aliyev was dismissed from the Politburo of the Soviet Union. Armenia’s atrocities against Azerbaijanis, particularly the Khojaly genocide started to be assessed after national leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power,” he added.
