In Azerbaijan, judges of city and district courts sometimes, under the guise of protecting the citizens’ rights, pass decisions on the registration of illegal buildings that gives rise to many problems later, reads a reporting article by the chief of the department for with documents and appeals of citizens at the Presidential Administration, Suleyman Ismayilov, which was published by AZERTAC.
According to the article, the delayed execution of court decisions causes more concerns, as some of complaints received by the Presidential Administration are about adoption of unilateral decisions and failure in their executions.
“Six judges were suspended, 12 judges were brought to disciplinary responsibility and 2 were dismissed in 2016 over violations causing dissatisfaction of citizens, creating conditions for corruption and other negative cases. The administration received complaints mostly related with activities of courts of Baku city, its Garadagh, Sabail, Surakhani, Yasamal districts, Lankaran, Sumgayit, Absheron, Agjabedi, Beylagan, Bilasuvar, Goranboy, Goygol, Isamyilli, Nizami (Ganja), Saatli, Sabirabad, Tovuz cities and districts,” reads the article.
