The process of civil service recruitment should be simplified in Azerbaijan, said Maleyka Abbaszade, chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the State Examination Center (SEC).

“It’s necessary to ensure efficiency in this process. In this regard, the necessary work will be carried out in the country,” Abbaszade said addressing Tuesday the opening of a new twinning project titled “Support to the continuation of reforms in the civil service system of Azerbaijan.”

According to her, the transparency in the civil service recruitment process has caused to an interest in this sphere.

Abbaszade said she believes the reforms in the civil service recruitment will serve the improvement of the civil service and professionalism.

“The current situation in civil service recruitment is that all transparent opportunities and an important legal environment have been created. Civil-servant relationship has been minimized in all stages. However, this process should be continued. Besides, civil service should be accessible to all people”, she added.

Abbaszade recalled that the SEC comprises two organizations, noting that the State Students Admission Commission has 25 years of experience in carrying out examinations and evaluation of knowledge, while the Civil Service Commission has 12 years of experience in the civil service area.

“The merger of the two organizations means the implementation of joint activities and combination of human potential. This fact will lead to more authority in the provision of public services,” she added.
