The cigarette shopwindows in stores promote smoking, Tofiq Musayev, head of department at the Health Ministry’s Center for Public Health and Reforms, told APA on Monday.
He noted that in Azerbaijan 36% aged over 15 are smokers.
"The number of female smokers is below 1%. 77% of men and 41% of women are affected by cigarette smoke in public places and at home respectively. 40% of people smoke at home and thus endanger their family. I have to note that 85% of men aged over 35 who have died of cancer were smokers,” he said.
