The Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia on Friday hosted an event dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy, APA's Georgia bureau reported.
Ambassador Dursun Hasanov in his speech gave detailed information about the bloody event, which he said was not only tragedy but also a demonstration of heroism.
Among those that delivered a speech were Kvemo Kartli regional governor Paata Khizanishvili, Georgian MP Mahir Darziyev, university professor Sardion Gegelashvili, former MP Hidayat Huseynli.
A 20 January film was screened at the embassy, and books and photos on 20 January were displayed.
The embassy has organized similar events in Sagarejo, Marneuli, Bolnisi, and Gardabani. Also, assistance was provided to the 20 January martyrs of Georgia.
