From 2017 on, Azerbaijani pilgrims wishing to perform the Hajj for a second time will have to pay an additional fee.

According to the decision passed by the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia in September 2016, the second entry of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims is charged extra $500 US dollars. However, the Ministry of Hajj later eliminated an additional fee for Umrah pilgrimage.

According to the rules, from 2017 on, Hajj pilgrims from Azerbaijan will pay extra $500 for their second entry and $550 for the third and more entries.

The delegate of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), which deals with organizational work, has already left for Saudi Arabia regarding this year's Hajj season. The cost of Hajj pilgrimage will increase this year due to the sharp rise in dollar exchange rate.

Last year, pilgrims are offered two forms of pilgrimage as usual. One option, which offers more prestigious hotels where guests can have more expensive meals and stay in four-bed rooms, cost AZN 4,500. The other, which offers relatively cheaper hotels with six-bed rooms, cost AZN 3,500.

The CMO is the only body authorized to receive documents for Hajj pilgrimage.
