The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MIA) spread information in connection with the blogger Mehman Huseynov.

The press service of the MIA told APA that on January 9, 2017 about 19.45 employees of patrol officers received information that at the intersection of streets “Mardanov Brothers and Hazi Aslanov in Nasimi district, two persons violating public order, allow actions that demonstrate disrespect for others.

The report notes that the police arrived and urged these individuals to discipline, but they are deliberately disobeying the lawful demands of the police to continue their illegal activities. "Persons, delivered in district police station, have been identified as residents of Baku Mehman Huseynov and Ekram Tahmazov, they were hold on the basis of the Code on administrative violations. On January 10 against the noted persons were drawn up under Article 535.1 of the Administrative Code (disobedience to lawful demands of a police officer), and the materials were sent to the court. According to the court, Tahmazov Akram was arrested for 10 days, and M. Huseynov fined 200 manat.

However, M. Huseynov told the press that he allegedly was abducted by police, illegally imprisoned, tortured, in particular, the physical violence and mental suffering. For legal assessment M. Huseynov’s action slandered police by his accusations in a grave crime Interior Ministry has filed a petition to the Prosecutor General.
