Criminal case launched into wrong amputation case

The Prosecutor-General's Office told APA that Yasamal District Prosecutor's Office investigated the information received about the fact that the patient with diabetes Tarlan Mammadova, 82, diagnosed with amputation of the left leg, was operated Valeh karimov in the Angiology and Microsurgical Center of the Health Ministry on June 24 and her healthy right leg was amputated instead of the inflamed left leg, and consequently a serious damage was caused to her health.

A criminal case was launched under the Article 131.2 (Causing of serious harm to health on imprudence) of the Criminal Code, and experts have been appointed properly.

Moreover, the Ministry of Health has involved experts in the case and inspections are underway.

Investigation is underway on the case.
