Jalilabad resident detained over hacking his ex-wife and children

Jalilabad District Police Department told APA that due to the operational search measures taken, resident of the district’s Mughan village Isgandar Aliyev was detained as a suspect and handed over to investigating authorities.

The incident occurred at 04:00am on June 24 in Mughan village of Jalilabad district.

Resident of the village, Isgandar Aliyev entered to the house of his ex-wife Shamama Gurbatova, hit her and their 12-year old son in head with an axe. Then, he brawled with his elder son Farid. He tried to strangle his 17-year old son, but he could escape. Neighbors came after hearing screams and Isgandar Aliyev fled the screen.

Neighbors took the injured to the hospital.

The incident took place as Isgandar Aliyev refused to pay alimony.

Jalilabad district law-enforcement bodies are investigating the case.
