“We have received a letter from Ingrid Deltenre, General Director of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). We are waiting for the meeting to be held in June where Armenia will be sanctioned by the managing committee of the Eurovision Song Contest,” he said.

Guliyev noted that in connection with the latest flag provocation by Armenia, a letter was sent the EBU. Moreover, copies of the letter were also sent to heads of public television and radio broadcasting companies of about 40 countries and a number of international organizations operating in this field.

“As a result of these steps, we received a letter of response from the EBU, which strongly condemned Armenia's contestant for the provocation, stressing that Armenia will be sanctioned by the Eurovision managing committee,” the ITV director general said.

“It is also noted in the letter that Armenia breached the paragraph #1.2.2 of the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest. The EBU and the contest management quickly responded to the letter, because the Armenia provocation runs contrary these rules. Public TV channels of a number of countries also condemned the Armenian provocation,” Guliyev added.

He said that if the Armenians think that they can resort another provocation after the completion of the contest, they are mistaken. They will be severely punished.
