Ministry of Culture and Tourism clarifies Minister Abulfaz Garayevâ€™s statement

Baku. Javid Zeynalli - APA. Ministry of Culture and Tourism has clarified Minister Abulfaz Garayev’s statement at the farewell ceremony for Ilhama Guliyeva.

February 26, in the Rashid Behbudov State Song Theatre at the farewell ceremony to People's Artist Ilhama Guliyeva Minister Abulfas Garayev talking about the genocide in Khojaly, which is the tragedy of the Azerbaijani people, paid tribute to the martyrs, head of the information and public relations department of the Ministry Vugar Shikhammedov told APA.

"The Minister said that Ilhama Guliyeva was a cultural figure who loved and advocated her country and its independence. Unfortunately, some media representatives, for the sensation extracted words out of the context said by Abulfas Garayev, gave it in a completely different meaning. Today, we ask God's blessings for martyrs who gave their lives for the country during the Khojaly tragedy and underwent genocide by Armenian vandals as well as for Ilhama Gulieva who we bade farewell to her last journey. We once again we respectfully honor the memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country," said V.Shikhammedov.
