US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said Feb. 8 that his country does not recognize the YPG armed group as a terrorist organization and will continue to support them.
Cavusoglu noted that it is impossible to combat terrorism in this way.
“Some leftist parties in Europe are seeking to remove the PKK from the list of terrorist organizations as they share the same ideology. The decision lies with the US: Choose either us or terror. We have told the US that the PKK and the YPG are affiliated. I have explained it to Kerry many times,” he said.
