The participants first commemorated the victims of the fire outbreak in a 16-storey building in Baku with a minute's silence.
Head of the Vienna-based Azerbaijani Cultural Center Leyla Gasimova addressed the ceremony saying that they are proud that such an event was organized as part of the Eurovision 2015 song contest.
The event was attended by delegations from various countries, including some Eurovision-2015 representatives - Aminata from Latvia, Vaidas Baumila and Monika LinkytÄ— from Lithuania, Måns Zelmerlöw from Sweden and Amber from Malta.
The guests were handed out magazines, brochures reflecting the important events in sports and cultural life of Azerbaijan and offered dishes of the country’s national cuisine.
Azerbaijan's 2015 Eurovision entry Elnur Huseynov changed his program due to the tragedy occurred in Baku. He didn’t sing rhythmic songs on that day, but only lyric ones.
Elnur Huseynov will today perform in the second semifinal of the Eurovision 2015 song contest.
