He emphasized the role of the employees of the Russia’s diplomatic mission in Yemen and the personnel of the Emergency Situations Ministry of Russia. “To evacuate the next group of Azerbaijani citizens from Yemen, the Embassy of the Azerbaijan in Saudi Arabia continues the coordination with Russia. Turkey also expressed its readiness to provide assistance for evacuation of the Azerbaijani citizens by plane upon the technical issues and flight permits. Therefore, we would like to express our gratitude to Turkey as well. Totally, there are about 20 Azerbaijani citizens in Yemen. Most of them are married couples. Seven Azerbaijani citizens have been registered by the Consulate in the Embassy of the Azerbaijan in Saudi Arabia accredited in Yemen”, he said.
Hikmat Hajiyev said that in accordance with the instruction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Azerbaijan in Saudi Arabia continues the coordination with all the Azerbaijani citizens in Yemen: “In connection with the events in Yemen since February 2015, hotline is available on the website of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Saudi Arabia.”
