The process resulted in a decision extending Shahin Sultanov’s pre-trial detention term up to 3 months, the lawyer Adam Mammadov told APA.
Note that, according to the Republican Military Prosecutor's Office, a number of irregularities had been found out during an inspection at the ANF, and the Republican Military Prosecutor's Office had launched a criminal case in this regard. Several persons accused of committing illegal acts, including former Commander of Azerbaijani Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Shahin Sultanov, were put in 3-month pre-trial detention under the judgment of the Baku Military court on April 23, on the presentation of the Republican Military Prosecutor's Office. Sultanov faced charges under the Criminal Code’s articles #179.3.2 (misappropriation – in large size) and 313 (official forgery). The investigation into the crimes is continuing.
