Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. The Embassy of Kingdom of Sweden in Azerbaijan has officially started its operation from the beginning of March.
Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikael Eriksson told APA that the embassy will be located in the center of Baku, in the office of the Norwegian Embassy in "ISR Plaza".
Speaking about the structure of the embassy, the Ambassador said that one diplomat and one local staffer will work at the diplomatic mission: “I will still be in Stockholm.”
Eriksson added that official opening of the embassy will take place at the end of spring - at the beginning of summer: “Citizens wishing to travel to Sweden can obtain visas from Norway's consular section in Azerbaijan.”
Sweden has opened its diplomatic mission in Armenia. The Swedish government decided to open embassy in Azerbaijan in June 2013.
