Nizami Ganjavi's 870th anniversary to be marked in Strasbourg

The Foundation told APA that the residents of Strasbourg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with an interesting exhibition on November 19.


Archaeological finds related to the period of Nizami – coins, samples of jewellery, household items, reproductions of miniatures drawn in medieval periods by Azerbaijani artists, pottery with miniatures and carpets and batiks made on the basis of subjects of poems included in “Khamsa” will be exhibited in Rhine Palace.

Photos made in Ganja late in the 19th – early in the 20th centuries, a mock-up of the thinker-poet’s mausoleum in Ganja, photos of monuments erected to the poet in the cities of Baku, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Rome, Cheboksary and Beijing, as well as publications related to Nizami’s creativity published by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will also be displayed at the exhibition.

Azerbaijan State Orchestra of Folk Instruments will give a concert at Music and Congress Palace of Strasbourg.
