Baku. Anakhanum Hidayatova – APA. “Scapegoat” by well-known Israeli writer Ali Amir has been presented in Israeli Cultural Centre, Azerbaijan University of Languages. The work is the first translation of Israeli literature into the Azerbaijani language, APA reports.

The book has great importance in recognition of the Jewish nation, which tells of the life of Polish, French, Russian and Jewish families, who migrated to the lands of Israel, and the difficulties they faced in the newly established government.

The presentation was also attended by representatives of the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan. Ambassador Rafael Harpaz underlined the further development of bilateral cooperation between Israel and Azerbaijan in all spheres, as well as in cultural relations. According to him, Israel supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and hopes Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be solved peacefully within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
