Baku. Parvin Abbasov – APA. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with representatives of the Permanent Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), said Asaf Hajiyev, member of the Parliament and head of the international relations department of the New Azerbaijan Party, who attended the meeting, APA reports. Hajiyev said that he asked Secretary-General a question during the meeting.
Asaf Hajiyev mentioned 4 resolutions on the Nagorno Kharabakh conflict adopted by the UN Security Council in 1993 and said that the people of Azerbaijan are concerned that they still remain on paper, it increases tension and risk of a new war in the region. The YAP representative said that it was high time to establish a new mechanism for the implementation of decisions.
Responding the question Ban Ki-moon noted the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group and admitted that the UN should strengthen its activity on this issue.
Jose De Venecia, one of the founders of ICAPP and its co-chair said that Azerbaijan was right and supported the fair position of Azerbaijan on the Nagorno Karabakh issue.
ICAPP includes 330 political parties of Asia, Permanent Committee includes representatives and two co-chairs of the 18 political parties. New Azerbaijan Party is the member of the Permanent Committee.
