International ICT exhibition starts in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

According to APA-Economics, Presidential Administration Humanitarian Policy Department Head Fatma Abdullazade has read the congratulation letter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that, he hoped Ban Ki-moon would attend at the next event.

Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov noted that, Azerbaijan was among the countries developing dynamically. It will change from developing country to developed country.

He also noted that, 60% of population is internet user.

Secretary General of International Telecommunication Union Hemedan Ture noted that, Azerbaijan invested black capital in human capital. According to him, more than 6 bln persons are mobile communication, than 2 bln – internet users: “Azerbaijan’s ICT sphere increased by 5 times during past 8 years”.

Yan Kubis, the UN Deputy General Secretary, Executive Secretary of the UN European commission, appreciated Azerbaijan’s achievements in ICt sector. He noted that, the state supported this sphere.

Besides, relevant Ministers of Pakistan, Romania and Israel, Microsoft Vice-President and other officials made speeches at the event.

Note that, near 250 companies from 29 countries attend the exhibition: “More than 40% of exhibition will make local IT companies, mobile operators, distributors, communication operators and service companies. For the first time, 18 national expositions from Austria, Hungary, France, Canada, Lithuania and other countries will be presented. Azerbaijan National Pavilion will be situated in the Baku Expo Center’s second pavilion”.
