Baku to host events due to be declared the capital of Islamic culture [ 23 Dec 2008 14:46 ] Baku. Ulkar Gasimova–APA. Series of events due to the declaring of Baku as a capital of Islamic culture in 2009 will start on February, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev told journalists, APA reports. The Minister said they were planning to provide the interesting cultural program within a year. “We expected to host many guests in Azerbaijan next year. The political and economic situation of Azerbaijan will be better and we will establish cooperation with a number of Islamic countries within these events”. Garayev said Azerbaijani cultural days would be held in nine countries in 2009. |
