Azerbaijan to purchase new helicopters from Italy

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. This year, Azerbaijan is going to purchase 10 new helicopters of Italian manufacture.
AZAL told APA-Economics that civil airdrome of the country will be provided with 8 AW139s and 2 AW189s within this year. the mentioned helicopters are manufactured at Agusta Westland concern of Italy: ‘The helicopters will be used in passenger transportation over the sea, emergency aid, as well as search and rescue operations.’
Note that, works are underway on renovation of Zabrat airport. Recently, German BAN 2000 GmbH has completed installation of light signal system on runway at the airport: ‘The mentioned system ensures security in 24/7 regime.’
