Goli Ameri said that the Department of State was interested in cooperating with the Manuscripts Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and supporting this institute. Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs said that US Congress passed a decision to establish a fund for protection of cultural heritage in 2001 and over 135 states had appealed to this fund. Azerbaijan appealed to the fund twice and received assistance for restoration of Gala mosque and protection of Alban monuments.
