Javier Clemente: We think to win the match against Azerbaijan team

We have very few chances to attend the European championship final stage after 0-0 draw against Armenia in Iravanâ€, Spanish head coach of Serbia team Javier Clemente told the todayâ€™s press conference. According to him the Serbians will try to win the tomorrowâ€™s match. â€œAdvancing to the European championship final stage is not priority for Serbia. Our main aim is to establish strong team of younger footballers. We are close to achieve this gaol. Despite problems we think to perform well in Baku. We think to win the match against Azerbaijan team tomorrow.â€
Four years ago Dejan Savicevic quitted as coach of Serbia and Montenegro after his team’s humiliating 2-1 Euro 2004 qualifying defeat against Azerbaijan in Baku. Javier Clemente said he will not quit if his team is defeated in Baku.
â€œ I know that Savicev resigned after defeat in Baku four year ago. This is his personal step. If we loss to Azerbaijan I would not make a tragedy out of it. I am interested both in result and performance of teams. If Serbia team losses the match after good performance I will congratulate my teamâ€.
After 30 minute delay Javier Clemente started a press conference. Serbia team discussed the team problems during the first 10 minutes. Moreover, most of the questions were addressed by Serbian journalists, causing serious protest of their Azeri colleagues. /APA-Sport/
