He stated that some clubs satisfy themselves with playing in national championship and don’t do anything serious to develop child football. He advised the clubs to approach to the issue professionally. He noted that top division clubs’ U-18 and U-16 are participating in national championship and underscored that this event shouldn’t be considered satisfactory. AFFA chair thinks they should take appropriate steps to attract children’s attention and interest to football and not to lose them after a few years. The most necessary thing here is boarding schools. He stated that most clubs in Baku have no stadiums or camp. Mirzeyev noted that AFFA intends to open a school in a district in Baku as soon as the organization can afford it. Touching the matches between Azerbaijan and Armenia he stated that it is a very fragile issue. Mirzeyev considered it impossible the matches to take place in Baku and Yerevan. He also noted that State Oil Company doesn’t contribute to the national team.
AFFA president pointed out that ticket sale, ads, broadcast right, sponsors and etc. are sources of income in football. He said there is much problem in this matter in Azerbaijan. He said totalizing matches are played in most European countries under state control but such things are illegal in our country. Mirzeyev said Turkish Football Federation has suggested the AFFA to work out a project to on legalization of totalizing games in Azerbaijan. AFFA met with state bodies on the issue. He said the project will accelerate the development of football and increase state budget in some degree. Mirzeyev considered it necessary to free football from tax.
Taking into consideration the discontent of clubs, AFFA passed a decision on legionary limit “5+2”.
