None of Azerbaijani correspondents blacklisted are in the aforesaid regions, nor has any of them requested accreditation there, the Press Council said.

Mirotvorec news agency accused the correspondents of supporting terrorism and separatism due to the fact that they are accredited in the Russian Foreign Ministry and operate in that country, according to the letter.

“We would like to inform that Azerbaijan suffers from separatism and extremism of occupying Armenia. Azerbaijani media unequivocally accepts that promotion of any form of separatism runs contrary to the interests of the state. Azerbaijani state, public and media demonstrate common principal position in this sensitive issue. We can say with confidence that it is impossible for an Azerbaijani citizen representing our country’s mass media outlets abroad to take part in illegal actions and initiatives that can undermine the territorial integrity of Ukraine or any other state,” says the letter.

The letter asks these bodies to pay attention to the activity of Mirotvorec news agency aimed at causing discord between Azerbaijan and Ukraine and take appropriate legal actions.

The Ukrainian website Mirotvorec has released information that 239 foreign correspondents, among them reporters from Azerbaijani media outlets, have been banned from entering Ukraine. The list includes 11 reporters of Azerbaijani media, including APA Information Agency’s Moscow correspondent Farid Akbarov.
