The head of state made the remarks on Friday at the official reception held on the occasion of the national holiday of Azerbaijan – Republic Day.

President Aliyev noted that the Azerbaijani people and state will never allow the establishment of a second Armenian state in the Azerbaijani territories.

He said that the process of military buildup in Azerbaijan is going on successfully, the economy is undergoing diversification and reforms are being carried out.

By the end of this year, all the actions relating to the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor will have been taken, Ilham Aliyev stressed. Â

“I'm convinced that the year 2016 will be successful for our country. All the achievements have been made in the years of independence. Azerbaijan has never been as powerful as now. We are the masters of our destiny, we have an independent state, and we are a free nation. We have taken up a decent place in the world and we will continue to follow the path of independence and development," added the president.Â
