Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. The 7th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues kicked off in Russia's Chechnya on Tuesday.

Moscow is prepared to establish a broad anti-terrorist front on the basis of equality and non-interference in domestic affairs of other countries, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said opening the meeting, APA’s correspondent reported.

“In consideration of requests from participants, we decided to dedicate the meeting’s first discussion to extremism and terrorism. It’s of symbolic importance that we are discussing the problem in the Chechen capital of Grozny, a city that has faced horrific manifestations of this evil,” he said.

“I think there is a need for Russian experience in countering terrorism. We are convinced that the creation of a broad anti-terrorist front on the basis of norms and principles of the international law and the central coordinating role of the United Nations meets the interests of all participants of our meeting. For its part, Russia is ready for such a joint work on the basis of equal cooperation with the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and compliance with the principle of non-interference in their internal affairs,” said Patrushev.

He also touched on the migration problem.

Patrushev went on to say that there is lack efficient data exchange among countries as before. “Therefore, the second main topic of the meeting is the migration problem which poses a threat to regional and international security.”

This year, the meeting brought together representatives of 70 countries and the UN delegation, which "serves as decisive evidence of the serious intention to strengthen partnership in countering global threats and challenges, in developing coordinated approaches in the sphere of international and regional security."

Also present at the meeting are Ramiz Mehdiyev, head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, secretary of the National Security Council under Azerbaijani President, Fuad Alasgarov, head of the Department of the Presidential Administration for Work with Law-Enforcement Agencies, and Sergei Melikov, Russian president's envoy for the North Caucasus.
