Victims of crashed Azerbaijani plane identified

The AN-12 was leased from Azerbaijan's Silk Way for cargo transportations in Afghanistan, the State Civil Aviation Administration of Azerbaijan said in a statement to APA on Thursday.

The aircraft landed in the Dwyer airport after leaving Afghanistan's Bagram airfield and was flying to Mary, Turkmenistan, for refueling. There was no cargo on board, said the statement.

The plane that flew to Dwyer from Bagram (Afghanistan) was directed to Mary (Turkmenistan) to refuel, according to the statement.

The nine crew members are:

1. Shaydanov Rashid Rahmanovich (Uzbek citizen), captain, 1953;

2. Abdullayev Altay Oqtay (Azerbaijani citizen), second pilot, 1971;

3. Asadullayev Nazim Orujali (Azerbaijani citizen), navigation officer; 1968

4. Rzayev Nadir Adıgozal (Azerbaijani citizen), flight engineer, 1964;

5. Shahverdiyev Firdovsi Shir (Azerbaijani citizen), radio operator, 1964;

6. Zulfiyev Azer Aghakishi (Azerbaijani citizen), flight operator, 1973;

7. Zadnipryanets Ruslan Vladimirovich (Ukrainian citizen), technician, 1969;

8. Qanja Andrey Nikolaevich (Ukrainian citizen), technician, 1955;

9. Aliyev Ramzi Mamudovich (Ukrainian citizen), technician, 1963

According to information, the technicians Qanja Andrey and Aliyev Ramiz survived. They are in stable condition.

The State Civil Aviation Administration of Azerbaijan has created a commission to investigate the accident. Chairman of the commission Mukhtar Karimov, department head at the Administration, and members have left for Dwyer airport.

Silk Way Air Company offers condolence to relatives and familiars of the victims.
