She recalled that Armenians desecrated the dead bodies of Azerbaijani servicemen killed during the April events on the frontline.
“This is contrary to the conventions. It’s a crime against humanity. Nevertheless, we do not have any articles in this regard in our Criminal Code. Therefore, articles on criminal responsibility for such crimes must be added to the Criminal Code. Our committee in particular is supposed to work out such amendments to the Criminal Code,” Muradova noted.
The vice-speaker added that some other gaps were found in the Criminal Code during the parliamentary hearings on the Nagorno-Karabakh last week.
“During the latest incidents, prohibited weapons were used against Azerbaijan. Furthermore, the health and property of people were harmed. There need to be articles in the Criminal Code against such crimes of aggression. Also, I call on those whose health or property were harmed to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights,” she summed up.
